Together for a better Future

We develop solutions for a healthy planet.

Zero emissions is our singular goal and what we work towards every day. When it comes to the development, construction and operation of our biomethane plants, ‘Tomorrow's Green Energy. Today.’ is the aspiration we live by.

Why VORN Bioenergy? Because we...

... are partners to our suppliers.

We build our plants where our partners in agriculture and the food industry are located. Our biomethane plants, designed to be CO2-neutral, are found close to customer production sites. This eliminates unnecessary transport for their by-products, from which our bacteria produce the biomethane, which is either returned directly to our suppliers as energy or fed into the natural gas grid.

... are creating trust

Long-term contracts for the purchase of residues from agriculture or by-products from the food industry offer security for both sides. For our suppliers, they now have a reliable buyer for their residues, receive credits for their carbon footprint and the farmers also get high-quality fertiliser for their fields. On our side, in return, we receive valuable input materials that allows us to produce reliable and environmentally friendly biomethane and food-grade CO2.

... act with foresight.

Technology is constantly evolving. Our developers in Germany and Europe are at the forefront when it comes to developing even more efficient systems or making our processes and procedures more efficient. We are also committed to creating and maintaining safe and fair working conditions for our employees all over the world. This is how we create added value for our customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders.

... drive innovation.

Taking on new challenges is one of the driving forces at the heart of VORN Bioenergy. With this in mind, engineers, construction teams, agronomists, and the people at our plants work every day to optimise existing processes and find new solutions to produce valuable and CO2-neutral energy from agricultural by-products and residual materials.

We offer solutions for a wide range of industries.

Agriculture

Our dedicated raw materials management team talks to hundreds of agricultural businesses every day. Working closely with them, we develop strategies on how their silage, fermentation residues, agricultural by-products or manure from livestock farming can be used to feed our biomethane plants. This can be scheduled on a just-in-time basis or as required, for example during harvesting.

Food Industry

The food industry produces thousands of tons of organic by-products every day. Not only does by-products have to be disposed of, but it also has a negative impact on the CO2 balance of these companies. Working closely with these organisations, we are developing solutions for producing biomethane and food-grade CO2 from these residues, which we consider to be valuable raw materials.

Want an example?

Olive Oil

Olive oil production creates large quantities of a by-product known as pomace, which is the residue from the pressed olives. Until now, this pomace has been incinerated. This is not only inefficient, but also pollutes the environment. With this in mind, we are building eight biomethane plants in Spain for the world's largest olive oil producer, in which we are converting pomace into valuable, CO2-neutral energy. The residues from the fermentation process are then used in agriculture as valuable fertiliser.

Sugar Industry

Producing sugar from sugar beet results in large quantities of residues. For the most part, these have traditionally been dried using environmentally unfriendly-coal. This is costly and it also produces a lot of CO2. By developing our biomethane plants in the immediate vicinity of the sugar factories, we can produce valuable biomethane from these sugar beet residues, which we feed directly back to the sugar manufacturer who uses it to operate their processes. The fermentation residues are then returned to the agricultural sector as valuable fertiliser. In this way, waste is efficiently reprocessed and the industry can significantly improve its CO2 balance.
